Im from Miami. I was in high school from 05'-09'. My generation got absolutely wrecked by the opiate epidemic. Just north of me was the epicenter for pain clinics and for fake scripts. I was on pills for years since I was 19/20. I am 33 now and off of opiates, but I never once went to rehab. I suffered a rather shitty fate of going 2 months feeling great and then 2 weeks feeling like absolute trash for almost 10 years. I dont think ppl really understand how crazy it was to be on opiates in that moment. Now all the rappers talk about 30's and blues and roxys, but back in the day, we were getting 30's for $7!! We were basically giving the away in exchange for $30 80Mg pills lol. You would take off the outer coating and then you could blow them. I swear I know every bathroom in all of Miami and Lower Manhattan. When I got to NY, I got another connect. Always had some seriously OG connects. I didnt even realize in the moment. Those fuckers are prob stll selling, but 30's are now closer to $40 smh. But Florida? In the early 2000's? that shit was crazy. I probably gave my connect over 500K over 8 years. Imagine if I had bought BTC instead? Drugs are a powerful thing man. No one should ever be that doped up. You dont even feel that kinda rush when you have a kid. You dont even feel that rush when you make 1M$ over night. Ive also done that, so I know. THAT is calle dbeing early lol I wish everyone was doin em back in the day. Shit would have been a lot funner thats for sure. I took so many lessons from addiciton. My brothers were plagued by a similar misfortune. It hits everyone differently. I lost so many friends in that mess. Ppl who I saw as best friends just disappeared from my life. Tbh, I wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy. Drugs are a crazy thing man haha
